The Davies Condos
Description
At just 9 storeys, The Davies is a lesson in artful design on an intimate scale. The architecture provides a sense of substance that captures the play of natural light, across a colour palette of stone, wood, and glass. This pairs beautifully with the adjacent landscape of Robertson Davies Park. The building, comprised of 36 residences and 8 unique penthouses, is thoughtfully positioned to capture views of the park, the treetops of Forest Hill, and some of Torontos most notable buildings beyond. Its contemporary profile blends into the established neighbourhood, and reaffirms the axiom that intelligent design can elevate lifestyle to new heights.
Designed by SMV Architects, Hirsh presents The Davies asa project “thats most geared to people like me. For people in their 50s who are thinking about downsizing from a large single-family home to a condo, we wanted to offer urban homes that allow people to maintain the lifestyles theyve grown accustomed to. At the same time, we wanted to create layouts that also appeal to young families,” Hirsh adds, identifying a shortage of family-friendly units in Torontos condo market.
“For a lot of people, especially those who love to entertain, the idea of downsizing to a condo often seems daunting,” Hirsh tells us, “but it doesnt have to be.” As Hirsh explains, suites at The Davieswhich range in size from 940 ft² to custom units of over 3,000 ft²are designed to accomodate “at least an 8-person dining table.”

Outside, each suites private terrace is equipped with a gas BBQ connection, “to let people keep enjoying the outdoors. Outdoor space isnt really a priority for most condos,” Hirsh goes on, “but its something I really believe in.” With a large rooftop terrace topping the building, residents will also have a communal space to enjoy the outdoors. “In this case, the programming on the terrace isnt just geared towards parties or special events. There are also quieter spaces, where people can go read a book or relax, and enjoy the terrace on a more regular, informal basis.”

Located on a site that overlooks Robertson Davies Park to the south, The Davies will join an urban environment “thats close to the heart of the city, but still has a quiet ambiance.” While Avenue Road is one of Torontos prominent north-south arteries, and the Bloor-Yonge area is within walking distance, the surrounding area is also characterized by rows of historic single-family homes, making for “a relaxed urban environment.”

During the pre-construction phase, Hirsh notes that suite configurations are highly customizable. “Weve had buyers who have told us they want a certain square footage, or a particular number of bedrooms, and weve been able to accomodate that.” In this regard, Hirsh explains that Brandy Lanes fine-grained approach to custom luxury spaces provides “a pretty scarce commodity in Torontos market.”

The Davies is set to feature interiors appointed by Lukas Design, alongside landscaping by NAK Design Group. Accented by wood tones, suite interiors will feature full-size Bosch appliances and high-end finishes, with each unit emerging onto the large terraces that wrap around the building. In terms of communal amenities, meanwhile, the project will feature a 24-hour concierge, a ground-level party room with flexible programming options (and a fully stocked catering kitchen), as well as a pet wash station.

The Davies will feature 82 parking spots, which will come equipped with 220V power outlets for electric and hybrid vehicles. “Its an urban and transit-friendly environment,” Hirsh explains, “but that doesnt mean that people necessarily have to give up their cars. We want people to be able to have both.”
With elegance and sophistication, Brandy Lane and its team have created, a unique collection of homes that embody traditional living and metropolitan cache. The residences have been designed to be perfect for entertaining friends and family alike, whether its a seated dinner for 10, or a cocktail party for 50. Private access elevators open onto each suite foyer, allowing for an unparalleled level of privacy and comfort. High-end features found in every suite at The Davies include: gas fireplaces, contemporary Cameo Kitchens with a Bosch appliance package with a duel fuel range with convection oven, and spa-inspired super baths. Creating a perfect fusion between indoor and outdoor living, all suites at The Davies open onto continuous balconies and/or terraces.

The experience begins in the stylish lobby where the welcoming environment is characterized by 24/7 concierge service, understated elegance, and custom finishes. Adding to the sense of arrival, The Dancer – a limited edition bronze sculpture by Paul Fairley will be a showcased focal point.
The Avenue Room, located on the main level, is designed to provide elegant entertaining space and has an adjacent catering kitchen. Completing the main floor amenities is a carefully designed fitness room and a convenient dog-wash station.
